RECONCILIATION FUN DAY Wednesday 29 May 2019
The mission statement of the International Baccalaureate states its aim is developing knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
It was wonderful that our school could be involved in the Reconciliation Week Community Fun Day in Gawler. Our indigenous students, their buddies and our Year 1 students had the opportunity to attend the event, present a banner they had put together about reconciliation, take part in indigenous art and damper making workshops and interact with the many community groups and community members who were there on the day. The organisers did a fantastic job, despite the challenge of having to shift venues because of weather, and our students had a really engaging and valuable day.
