Our Year 6 students started the year with a look at how we make decisions, both at school and in our wider society.
This unit of inquiry runs for the whole year and leads into the students’ involvement in our Student Parliament.

Central Idea:

Societies are shaped by their decision making processes

Lines of inquiry:

· Decision making processes and the impacts on society

· The rights and responsibilities of citizenship

· Planning leads to action

As a major part of preparing for this and developing their understanding of the unit this year, the Year 6 students are spending this week in Canberra.  They’ve had a pretty packed schedule, visiting Parliament House, Old Parliament House and the Electoral Education Centre, the War Memorial, Questacon Science Centre and many other amazing places.
