March 2019

As part of the learning for these units students went on an overnight camp to Monarto Zoo (Indaba) last week.

Their first stop was at Old Tailem Town where they spent time finding out about how the first Australian Settlers used to live.  Students came dressed in olden day fashion and had a look around the pioneer village which is decked out with 110 buildings including homes, shops, an old school house and police station.

Next stop was at Monarto Zoo.  Students went on a Safari trip, saw the giraffes being fed,  saw Tasmanian devils, raked up leaves for the bush turkeys nests, made passports, built cubby’s, did a night walk and collected bison poo too!   Great Fun!     A BBQ was cooked and served for tea.  Yum!

It was an engaging, exciting camp and a great opportunity for students to get  involved in their learning in a very real way.
