As you know, we currently have two significant building projects on the go. It had been planned that the new building on the Western side would be completed before starting the ‘heritage building’ refurbishment… but it didn’t work out that way.
So, we pass on a massive thank you to our school community, especially staff and students for the willingness to adapt and overcome the issues of losing six teaching and learning spaces for several months.
The new building on the western side of our school has been colloquially called CU2 during the development process. At this stage we are anticipating handover during the week of the 20th September (Week 10 this term.) So… fingers crossed… we’ll be able to relocate our Yr 5 and Yr 6 students in there for the start of term 4 this year. The building has three levels, the upper being a staff room, the ground floor housing Yr 5 and the lower floor will be for Yr 6 and a Library / Learning Hub. This building is over 700 sq meters and will provide outstanding spaces for students to learn in both large and small groups. It has toilets and IT / Green rooms and outstanding thermal / environmental qualities. (The photo attached is from this date in 2020!!)
The Heritage Refurbishment is set to finish mid-term 4 and this will house our Yr 2 and Yr 3 grades. With the walls knocked out, as you can see in the photos, we are opening up the space to provide greater flexibility for the learning programme.
