Volunteering
Child Safe Policy
The safety of all children in our care is of primary significance. Legislation requires all volunteers who work with children to have police checks.
To obtain a police clearances go to
http://www.sapolice.sa.gov.au/sapol/services/information_requests/national_police_certificate.jsp
to download the PD267 form and complete as per instructions provided.
As a volunteer working in a school there is no charge as the government will meet the costs. Once the application form has been stamped at the police station, please return it to the school and the registered person will endorse the form with a Voan Number and forward onto SAPOL.
A copy of the Police Clearance needs to be sited and noted by the school office staff and a volunteer badge with photo ID will be created and issued for wearing when volunteering at school for on and off site activities.
Police checks need to be updated every three years.
The school thanks you for your cooperation in this matter.
Classroom Helpers / Parent Volunteers
Class teachers often require help from Parents with student reading, PMP, craft, etc. When a parent is on our school site as a classroom volunteer they will be requested to sign in the Parent Volunteer Register located at each classroom. The front office also has a volunteer / visitor sign in register.
We are accountable for knowing who is on the school site at any given time.
Volunteer Training
Our school is responsible to provide an induction session for volunteers. Mr Helbig will conduct several training sessions throughout the year. Dates & times will be advised accordingly. Alternatively you can read the Volunteers Handbook attached to this page and complete the following questions.
Your name and details will then be recorded in our volunteers register and a volunteers badge will be made for you to wear whilst volunteering at our school.
