Enriching the Curriculum

While attending to the importance of the literacy and numeracy program of the school, we also strive to enrich the learning experiences of each child.

Excursions, incursions, camps, visiting authors or artists engage and inspire children. The IB Primary Years Program involves children actively researching their own primary sources.

The digital or computer world is available to our children but wherever possible we add to the learning experience with a variety of  quality activities. Jump Rope for Heart, Gifts of Grace, Shoeboxes of Love, selling playdough for diabetes research, supporting the Animal Welfare League are some of the teacher and student led community activities we have participated in previously.

Our outdoor education provides challenges and experience to build character and confidence. The most recent event was the senior aquatics day at West Lakes and Tennyson Beach.

Children are involved in being caretakers of God's creation by composting, gardening, monitoring water use, recycling and the like.

Children in year 1 will have a one school night sleepover in term 4.

Year 2-7 children attend an annual camp.  This is an important part of our Outdoor Education Program, providing experiences not possible in the normal school environment.
